As CEO of cityCURRENT, Park directs the organization and team of businesses, including some of the world’s largest employers, like FedEx, AutoZone, Cummins Inc., Humana, Republic Services, Expedient, Flex, and Smith & Nephew, that host more than 150 events each year, along with an array of positive-oriented media and philanthropic initiatives to enrich and impact the community.
Park is the original architect who transformed cityCURRENT, formerly known as the Lipscomb Pitts Breakfast Club, from a small, simple inward-focused business networking group, hosting only a handful of events, into a powerful team of businesses now outward-focused on making a difference and recognized internationally as an innovator in corporate philanthropy, social entrepreneurialism, and collective impact.
Park is the author of the "Giving Back" column, which he launched in 2010 and is published each Sunday in The Commercial Appeal. He is the author of the books, Giving Back with Purpose: fueling growth through community involvement, released by Main Street Books in December 2013; and Giving for Growth: Achieving Success Through Giving Back, released by Main Street Books in November 2015. Proceeds from both books benefit youth literacy programs in the Mid-South.
Park executive produces and hosts the cityCURRENT Radio Show, which airs each Sunday from 7-8 AM across the four radio stations on the Cumulus Media Memphis network (Kix 106, 98.1 The Max, 98.9 The Bridge, and 103.5 WRBO), and also executive produces and hosts the monthly television series, The SPARK, which can be seen the third Friday of each month at 7:30 PM on PBS's WKNO/Channel 10. He also hosts the TV series, "A Conversation With," and executive produces and hosts the annual televised awards show, The SPARK Awards, as well as the ChangeMakers Podcast. As a guest speaker, Park regularly keynotes events, leads panel discussions, and talks to groups about our model, shifts in corporate philanthropy, how giving leads to growth, cause marketing, and personal branding.
Park is also a Member of the LLC with Lipscomb & Pitts Insurance, LLC. He was recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 in 2010 and has been profiled in Inside Memphis Business Magazine's Power Players, which spotlights the top 400 business and community leaders in various industries, each year since its inception in 2010. Park has been featured in a number of national publications, such as Forbes Magazine, Fortune Magazine, Huffington Post, and Leader's Edge, and author Bruce Weinstein, The Ethics Guy, featured Park in his 2015 national release, The Good Ones: Ten Crucial Qualities of High Character Employees. He and his wife, Meredith, have two sons, Cooper and Cayson. Park is heavily engaged in the community, serving on a number of nonprofit boards and committees, including an appointed position on the Germantown Economic Development Commission and Regional Board Chair for New Leaders.
